Groundhog Day! Where to Watch and What to Drink
Once again folks, it’s the 2nd of February – the traditional Pennsylvania holiday known as Groundhog Day, which Bill Murray’s character Phil Connors covers in the 1993 movie and is forced to live over and over again. Groundhog Day has since become a term for something repeats ad nauseum and we all have days like that. So come home, sit back and watch the movie with the drink that features in it – Sweet Vermouth On The Rocks With a Twist. It’s a very simple drink but the magic is in the preparation:
Ingredients
2 oz / 50 ml sweet vermouth (e.g. Martini Rosso)
1 lemon twist
Method:
Fill a rocks glass with ice. Pour the vermouth over the ice. Peel a strip of zest off a lemon. Twist this over the drink to express the oils and plunge the twisted peel into the glass as a garnish. Serve with a cocktail straw.
